Note that the majority of cohousing communities are structured as condominiums.   HOA fees are different from condo fees because of the different ownership structure, so it will be important to be clear about which is being referred  to.

In addition to identifying the ownership structure, it would be particularly helpful to understand what is covered by each specific community's fees and why they chose to cover those items.

Hi Ellen,

I do not know of any research on fees in cohousing communities, but I am copying research-l, CRN's email list, on this message in hopes that someone else may.

Anybody familiar with research on HOA fees in cohousing?

Best,

Angela

My cohousing community is considering raising its monthly assessments.  We
expect everyone to contribute work hours but we also charge an HOA fee to
cover common costs.  Has anyone within the cohousing network collected
information on these fees through cohousing communities.  I'd like to get an
idea of how much other communities charge per month.
