I hope this message finds you well. I am posting this message for Rachel who does not have access to our list. Neil Without further ado, here’s Rachel….. -=-=- Hi Everyone, CohoUS has two spring programs taking place next week! The first is Creative Financial Strategies, which takes place on Tuesday, March 19 at 4pm MT. Join us for a presentation by Polestar Gardens, an educational non-profit, on the vision and development of Polestar Village—a 20-acre intentional neighborhood in Fort Collins, CO. Rooted in the values of “Spirit, Community, and Lifelong Learning,” Polestar Gardens invites like-minded individuals to co-create a unique living experience. The cost is $30, free for CohoUS members. Register the event at https://cohousinginstitute.org/product/creative-financial-strategies-lessons-from-a-nonprofit-cohousing-community/ Then on Wednesday, 3/20, we're hosting Diversity 101: Microaggressions, which takes place at 4pm MT. Join instructor Crystal Byrd Farmer to begin your journey toward inclusivity with this interactive workshop on microaggressions–those subtle, everyday slights that often go unnoticed but profoundly impact marginalized individuals in their engagement with the world. In this workshop, we will explore key aspects of identity, including race, gender, sexuality, class, and disability, and shed light on the specific microaggressions associated with each. Understanding that biases vary and that individuals may experience and respond to microaggressions differently, we will discuss the nuanced nature of bias and its impact. Finally, we’ll discuss practical strategies for addressing microaggressions without shame, fostering an environment that encourages growth and understanding. The cost is $60, free for CohoUS members. Register the event at https://cohousinginstitute.org/product/diversity-101-microaggressions/ Please email us at cohousingassociationofus [at] gmail.com for any questions. We look forward to seeing at next week's events! In Community, Rachel Ness CohoUS Operations Manager -=-=- Cordially, Neil Planchon Cohousing Research Network (CRN) Director.
