Hello everyone,

I have exciting news to share…. The Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC)
has finished putting the final touches on a couple of Aging in Community
virtual events. The waiting is over! Event details have been published and
registration is open.

We really lucked out and found 5 outstanding presenters who have assisted us in
co-creating a 5-week long curriculum: Aging Gracefully in Community. If you
would like to meet the presenters ahead of the course, we are offering a
90-minute introductory panel conversation. Maybe attend both?

We are expecting these programs to sell out, so please register asap. If you
cannot attend, recordings will be sent to all who register. Below, I have
included descriptions for both events along with weblinks where you can read a
little more and register.

Good news: Longevity is a fact of life for more people now than ever before.
Bad news: so is loneliness. A cooperative culture can support vibrant aging in
place by design. Get a nuanced understanding of the opportunities and
challenges of aging in an intentional community, from people who are doing it.

In the Aging Gracefully in Community course, you’ll learn how a cooperative
culture can support vibrant aging in place. Through five passionate and
experienced instructors, you’ll come to know the challenges and opportunities
of aging in community. You’ll discover the concept of eldering and discuss the
intergenerational dynamics that impact aging in an intentional community.
You’ll also examine the realities of aging in community and the often
unexplored topic of dying in community.

Through five classes and plenty of interaction with the instructors and each
other, you’ll gain a deep understanding of the factors, considerations, and
preparations necessary to age gracefully in community. Meet the instructors and
register here https://www.ic.org/aging-course/
