Dear colleagues,

I have been writing a paper on space sharing, titled "Space Sharing: The role of Stakeholders and Alternative Energy Metrics". I will submit it in the coming weeks, but I have already made the preprint version freely available on Researchgate. You can access it here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/335297907_Space_Sharing_The_role_of_Stakeholders_and_Alternative_Energy_Metrics

In our paper, we use interviews and a workshop to investigate the drivers and success factors of space sharing initiatives such as cohousing, coworking and coliving. We also investigate how such initiatives could help optimize the use of buildings in order to decrease resource and energy use. Finally, we review alternative energy performance metrics that are not based on floor area and could showcase the benefits of a more efficient use of space.

I hope this paper will be of interest to you. We gladly welcome any comment you might have! In particular, the social aspects of space sharing are important in our study, but they are neither my specialty nor my coauthors', so I'm always wary of missing or misinterpreting important phenomena.

Best regards,
