Have you tried to contact Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space? They maybe able to connect you with folks that are part of the U.S. squatting movement.  Just a suggestion.

A big thank you to Diane for sending me the link to info about intentional community statistics!  I have another quick question as I continue putting my article together: would anyone who has experience forming an intentional community be willing to participate in an email or phone interview?  I'm looking for personal insight on the challenges and joys of the community-forming process.
