II) Organizing the Degrowth Movement: Pre Malmo Conference Event (20th August 2018 – Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen)Université Libre de Bruxelles and Research&Degrowth are cordially inviting you to a seminar day.Context :A major degrowth & post-growth conference (http://www.postgrowth2018.eu) convened by European-level stakeholders (Members of the European Parliament from different political groups, academics, NGOs and unions) will take place in the premises of the European Parliament on September 18 and 19 (2018). At the heart of the European Union decision-making, the 2018 conference will offer a unique opportunity for the EU civil society and the degrowth and post-growth communities to exchange their views with those of EU officials and staff who define the core of the European economy. The aim of these 2 days – about one year before the next European elections and the nomination of a new Commission – will be to support a wide cultural contagion effect within the EU-institutions by which the thinking of policy makers could tilt towards genuine sustainability. These 2 days at the EU-Parliament will be preceded by a preparatory and learning seminar at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Objectives :On September 17th, we invite and convene around a 100 heads and souls from within the active forces of the degrowth and post-growth communities for a 1 day seminar with a double objective:1° learning from experiences: there are numerous accounts of cultural and scientific contagion which have taken place at the EU-levels since the existence of the European institutions. We convene a set of friendly analysts and activists who lived – in the near and far past – such institutionalisations from within different EU-institutions; the aim is to debate with them in a plenary session on the mechanisms that prevail within the institutions, on the inertias, on accelerators and things to avoid, buttons to push, issues to raise repetitively.2° crowding together on the most pressing policy agendas: scientific and activist communities are extremely lively and many things happen on specific agendas without everybody being updated. In fields in constitution like ours, we move also in different directions, explore adjacent but diverging hypothesis and questions. It seems important in terms of collective preparation to walk into the EU-institutions with a common understanding where our fields are in terms of their factual state-of-art, as well as in terms of deriving policy questions. The seminar will organize, in the morning, around a plenary session on past and on-going experiences of institutionalising ideas, concepts, questions… into institutions, and in particular at the EU-level, and in the afternoon, around a series of thematic parallel sessions with a limited set of themes (typically 4 to 6 working groups and bring us collectively and content-wise into gear for the 2 days at the EU-Parliament.The present is the call for papers and participation to these thematic panel sessions of the seminar. You are interested in participating actively to this collective challenge? Send us a mark of interest (+/- 500 words) by June 3rd, 2018 to Julien Vastenaekels (jvastena [at] ulb.ac.be), Grégoire Wallenborn (gwallenb [at] ulb.ac.be) and to Tom Bauler (tbauler [at] ulb.ac.be).See here for more detailed information on background, organisation and practicalities.Hope to see you joining in for this!

III) Building the Feminisms and Degrowth Alliance, call for activists and scholars: Pre Malmo Conference Event (20th August 2018 – Freetown Christiania in Copenhagen)
Invitation to the FaDA participatory meeting at 6th International Degrowth Conference in Malmö, Sweden, held on Tuesday, 21 August 2018 (in the morning).
The Feminisms and Degrowth Alliance (FaDA) was initiated during the Degrowth Conference in Budapest 2016. This 4-hours open participatory session in Malmö 2018 aims at fostering this alliance.
New and old members are invited to get to know each other and so to ease the continuing collaboration after the conference.
By joining the perspectives from activists, artists and scholars willing to forge ahead FaDA’s network further and by including already made proposals (resulting from a survey made), this session aims to exchange experiences and ideas and to agree on FaDA’s logistics and some future projects.
Furthermore, the purpose is to better define what are the objectives of FaDA, agreeing on the concepts and values it wishes to promote, taking also into consideration the possible issues and challenges that might arise.
The registration for the conference is now open (https://malmo.degrowth.org/registration/), so please feel welcome to join and push forward FaDA in Malmö!
Please also share and invite other interested people!

5) Mapping degrowth worldwide
More more info, see below.
Please fill in and share the Mapping degrowth worldwide questionnaire:
V) SURVEY: Mapping degrowth groups and organizations worldwide
We invite you to fill in this survey aimed at mapping degrowth activities worldwide.
This survey is an initiative of individuals involved in the coordination and organization of the international conferences on degrowth (the so called Support Group). It represents an attempt to bring groups and individuals together for political and practical
actions on degrowth that go beyond the biennial conferences. In order to organize ousrselves and build synergies for joint action on degrowth we need to know who we are and what are your/our thoughts/ideas.
To this aim we suggest:
To start a map and then, if there is sufficient impetus, to evolve into a (loose) network. The map will aim to facilitate those interested in degrowth to join a nearby group and work together on the territory, while connecting already existing groups.
Through it, you can join a mailing list (with a contact person for each organization or group) for internal coordination. This will facilitate the creation of synergies among the different organizations: for instance, it will be easier to co-organize collective
actions.
If you wanna be part of this process, please fill in the Survey!
Please note that this proposal is not just about creating another online network, but rather to ease face to face meeting. For instance you are invited the day before the next International Conference on Degrowth in Malmo (at the same venue) – to share
ideas, experiences and expectations. Come if you want to get to know each other and think jointly how to bring about the change we wish to see.
Alone it is impossible, but together we can make it!
We hope you like the idea...
