Welcome, Jack!

I too was born and raised in Berkeley--perhaps it is not surprising that many of us are interested in cohousing and other communal living arrangements.

Interesting work you do.

Just wanted to give a little shout out for now.

All best,

Heidi

Hello Everyone! And thanks for the introduction, Neil. I am very happy to be joining this group, as someone quite interested in cohousing from a research, personal and professional standpoint.

To answer the quick biographical questions prompted by Neil, I am currently located at Stanford University, where I am due to complete a B.S. in Environmental Systems Engineering (Urban Track) this Spring. I was born and raised in Berkeley, CA, and hope to live and work in the Bay Area when I settle down.

I am interested in cohousing mostly because it is a novel and community-oriented approach to addressing some of the many problems the Bay Area is facing at the moment, mostly related to the crises of inequality and affordability manifesting itself across a variety of dimensions (housing, transportation, employment, etc...).

In the future, I hope to be involved in the cohousing community in whatever capacity I am able to. Depending on my personal and professional trajectory it may be from a research standpoint, a development standpoint, a governmental standpoint, a resident's standpoint, or some combination of the above. This is why I am quite excited to be plugged into the CRN, as I am sure I will be able to find supportive collaborators whichever way I end up engaging with the cohousing community!

Looking on the more immediate term, I will likely be spending the next year either in the Bay Area working in civic innovation with the City of San Jose or in affordable housing, or on the East Coast/in Britain pursuing a degree in urban informatics.

A big thanks to Neil for connecting me to this community! Looking forward to getting to know you all in the future. And feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or requests! My contact info is listed at the bottom of the email.

Sincerely,
Jack Lundquist

Hello everyone… I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest subscribers!

Jack and Fernando… I have this little custom to welcome newcomers to our research-l discussion group and so that we can learn a little about each person, I invite you to share a short paragraph about yourself.

Where are you geographically located? (Country/City)
What Cohousing, Intentional or other community do you live in?
What interests you about Cohousing and the Cohousing Research Network (CRN)

What would you like to learn and contribute?
What else?

Thank you
