Folks, it seems to me that time is an essential variable when resilience / sustainability is being analyzed. The first survey that we collected from contacts in cohousing communities was done in late 2011 to early 2012. If we tried to go back to the same communities at the end of this year and the beginning of next year , we might be able to collect enough information to see what has happened to them over the course of six years. We might be able to connect that information to data that we collected the first survey and also some supplemental information for the current time.
Next May is too far ahead for me to plan for that conference . However, we could surely find some way to present the study if we were able to pull something together

Hi All,

Looking ahead to the 2017 National Cohousing Conference in Nashville and wondering if anybody is interested in putting together a research session. The theme is resilient, sustainable communities.

All best,

Please visit our Call For Presenters webpage

Coho/US welcomes proposals for presentations at the May 2017 National Cohousing Conference in Nashville. As a community-design process and as a way of living, cohousing encourages the development of valuable skills that support community, foster sustainable approaches, enhance lifestyles, and encourage civic engagement. This conference will seek to advance those skills both within our communities and outside our cohousing circles to grow and nurture our movement. In addition to cohousing basics, we are seeking presentations aligned with our theme of building resilient, sustainable communities - from living green through energy efficiency, shared resources, and greener building, to how community sustains us for measurably healthier and happier lives.

Conference presentations will be of three types: intensives, sessions, and facilitated discussions.

For more information and a link to a proposal submission form, visit http://www.cohousing.org/2017/call_for_presenters

Deadline for proposal submission = October 20, 2016

Many thanks for your interest in sharing your talents and knowledge!
