Thank you Fred and Angela

I do want archives to be public and the reply to go to the whole list.  I thought I had set those up that way. I’ll correct.

As far as the  real name field CC , I’ll send you an off list email with screenshots of my settings. I’d appreciate your help.

Neil

Thanks for the feedback, Fred! Very helpful. I definitely agree the archives should be open and the default reply should be to the entire list. Neil will respond to this I am sure and/or just make those changes. In the meantime, everybody be aware replying to the whole list is not the default.

So encouraging to have this much interaction already!

Warmly,

Angela

Hi Angela,

Good to see the list is up and running.  I note a couple differences
from the way Cohousing-L is set up.

I'm curious why the archives are password protected.  It seems to me
that that will considerably discourage their use and I would be
surprized if this list will be used for anything that requires
privacy.

I think that the archives can be one of the most useful aspects of
a mailing list.

Also the way the list is set up it seems like replies might easily go
to just the original poster rather than to the list.  This can depend
on the email program one is using, for me, replies go to
original poster and only if I choose the non default "Reply to all
recipients" does it go to the list as a CC.  This seems like it would
discourage sharing replies shich I think is undesireable.

Also the real name field on the CC to the list has the very long phrase:
serves as a forum for cohousing researchers to connect and
 share information
